Family-Friendly Restaurants in St. Augustine
The best bars and restaurants in town that welcome kiddos
St. Augustine’s charm and natural beauty make it hard to stay home, especially with so many cool spots to visit and inviting restaurants to eat in. These restaurants and bars are our favorites to take the kids, being both warm and welcoming to the youngin’s and absolutely delicious.

Best on the beach – Beachcomber, 2 A St, St. Augustine, FL 32080
Since the 1940s, Beachcomber has been a local favorite and a St. Augustine staple, famous for burgers, fresh seafood and fresh catch, and chowder. It’s one of the original beachside bars and restaurants – “where ‘A’ Street meets the Ocean” – and it’s always been extremely family-friendly. The owners love kids (and dogs!), and tables are located right on the beach, allowing kids to play in the sand. Their “For The Kids” menu includes chicken tenders, hot dogs, shrimp dinner and more, and a drink is included.

Best ‘nice’ night out – Purple Olive, 828 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
Another beloved locals’ restaurant, Purple Olive has been around for over 20 years – and they’ve just opened up in a new space, in the former home of Anastasia Island’s Gypsy Cab Co. Carrying on the tradition of being both great for families and an intimate night out, Purple Olive’s “Kids, Tweens & Teens” menu is legendary and rivals any other establishment in town. Serving up fresh salads, pastas and entrees including grilled sirloin, chicken parm, crispy tofu and more, prices range from only $5-$12.

Best views – Conch House, 57 Comares Ave, St.Augustine, FL 32080
Conch House is special, and it has unbeatably the best views of St. Augustine’s natural beauty and the St. Augustine Lighthouse, just off to the south. Sitting on the stunning Salt Run, Conch House can be a busy bar at night (and especially on Sundays), but it is family-friendly. Walk out to the dock for cocktails and let the kids enjoy the Intracoastal Waterway scenery, or dine in one of their unique Jamaican-style grass huts over the water! Serving all the classic island and coastal foods, including fried shrimp, oysters, fresh catch, conch fritters, datil wings, smoked fish dip, crab legs and more, Conch House is always a good time.
Best entertainment – Sarbez!, 115 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
One of the funkiest and fun places in town, Sarbez! is family-friendly 7 days a week (until 8PM that is). Serving up an infamous menu of over 100 combinations of grilled cheese sandwiches (and hot dogs too), this arcade has over 35 games (including classics like pinball). They have craft beer, cider, wine, kombucha and N/A options. Games take dollar bills and quarters, and there is an ATM and quarter machines available in house. All ages are welcome! At 8PM, you must be 18+ and after 10PM, you must be 21+.
Best tacos – Osprey Tacos, 300 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
Osprey Tacos is a family-run taco joint, started by a husband-and-wife duo: a chef and a former elementary school teacher. Fun, fast, fulfilling and affordable, their menu offers traditional Mexican street-style tacos as well as unique combinations that highlight local culture and cuisine – like tacos or bowls featuring crispy tofu, fried shrimp in a house-made pink datil sauce, Florida-raised ground beef burger and more. They pride themselves on using local produce and proteins, and offer multiple vegan and gluten-free options. Pop over to Old Coast Ales next door for a beer, and enjoy the outside (and covered!) seating.

Best food truck – Ragga Surf Cafe, 134 Riberia St (in the San Sebastian Marina), St. Augustine, FL 32084
Known for the good vibes and good eats, Ragga is a more recent addition to the St. Augustine food line up. Originally located on the ocean, they offer beach-friendly and vibrant foods – and they just found their new home in historic downtown at the San Sebastian Marina. Everything is scratch-made until it’s gone, including breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, veggie tacos, buttery mini croissants, artisan pop tarts, chef’s specials, muffins, quesadillas, PB&Js and a full coffee menu with specialty housemade syrups and flavors.
Best brewery – Bog Brewery, 218 W King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
Bog Brewery is where the locals drink, located on West King just a short drive from downtown. Bog is family-friendly (and dog friendly), especially on their large outdoor patio. They even have toys available to keep the kids busy on their cozy turf. The delicious taco truck, Taco My Blessings, serves up delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, which pairs perfectly with Bog’s traditional styles of beer and seasonal and local flavors, like the Smoked Datil Ale.
