St. Augustine’s Coffee Shop Crawl

Waking up in St. Augustine is always a treat – and grabbing an excellent cup of coffee makes it even better! Start your day off right with a delicious coffee from any of our favorite coffee shops and cafes, and maybe stay awhile, as many of these local haunts also offer delicious food, locally crafted beer and specialty wines as well.

Bar Citra

BAR CITRA, 3676 N Ponce De Leon Blvd., St. Augustine, FL 32084

One of the newest cafes north of town is BAR CITRA, coffee house by day and natural wine bar at night. With careful attention to sourcing, they serve coffee and an extensive tea menu, bread and pastries baked in-house, simple seasonal food and charming natural wines. Their house favorite coffees include a salted tahini latte, honey fig latte and cardamon cortado. With a full breakfast menu, a bar menu with snacks and starters and a dinner menu of dumplings, shrimp cocktail, pizza and more, BAR CITRA has it all. Stop in for a coffee, have a glass of wine or take a special bottle home. This welcoming and warm space invites you to linger anytime you’re in the neighborhood.

DOS

DOS Coffee & Wine, 300 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine, FL 32084

Located on the north end of downtown, DOS Coffee & Wine serves up your daily dose of hand-crafted lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos and more – plus, they have one of the best selections of natural wine and local craft beer in cans (to be enjoyed in-house or at your own). They serve homemade baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches and salads in what was once an old auto repair shop and is now a warm wood-paneled coffee roastery and cafe. Roasting their own beans under the name Relámpago Coffee Lab, enjoy their beans inside or out on their sunny and shady patio. DOS also has a hidden gem of a cafe in the heart of downtown, under the Relámpago name, located on 74 Spanish Street.

Ragga Surf Cafe

Ragga Surf Cafe, 134 Riberia St., St. Augustine, FL 32084

Known for the good vibes and good eats, Ragga is a more recent addition to the St. Augustine lineup. Originally located on the ocean, they offer a surf-inspired menu, filled with vibrant foods and craft coffees. Their new home in historic downtown at the San Sebastian Marina sits right on the water, where everything is scratch-made, including beautiful latte syrups including the honeycomb with cinnamon, sea salt caramel and mocha. They serve their own locally-roasted coffee in a classic drip, pour over, cold brew, cortados, capps and lattes. For non-coffee drinkers, grab a matcha, hot chocolate, Grammy’s Sweet Tea or their seasonal, fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Juniper Market

Juniper Market, 48 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine, FL 32084

Juniper Market has been a place for locals since 2014, serving grab ‘n go meals, coffees and delish fan-favorite Happy Trails cookies. Once located inside Coastal Traders, Juniper Market is located just a couple shops away in their warm and casual cafe. They partner with local farms to serve always-seasonal cafe eats, while providing a communal space for the neighborhood to gather. They’re famous for the Vietnamese iced coffee, Magic Coffee with specialty spices, chai lattes and specialty sandwiches, quiches and breakfast burritos. Stop in for a cup of coffee and snack to enjoy in-house or on the go.

Odd Birds Cafe

Located just down the street from us at Florida Water Tours, Odd Birds Cafe is the smaller, sister restaurant to Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen (located on Anastasia Island). The coffee shop, dessert bar and deli specializes in Latin-inspired cuisine, with a menu boasting of delicious breakfast Cubans and burritos, arepas, sweet corn pancake cachapas, breakfast bowls, avocado toast and specialty coffees – like cafe con leches and chai lattes. Plus, the desserts are insane! Guava and cheese pastelitos, tres leches and more. Stop in for a quick bite before you hit the sun and sand.

Taking the place of the former (and beloved) Present Moment Cafe on West King, Buena Onda continues a special legacy of providing the most warm and relaxing vibes. This family-run cafe specializes in vegetarian and vegan eats, espresso and coffee drinks and plant powered lattes – like the Golden Milk, with organic turmeric, ginger, cardamon, cinnamon and vanilla, rose lattes made with beet power, moringa matcha, butterfly pea flower lattes with ashwagandha and so much more. They also offer beer and wine, and delicious baked goods. Stop in to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and stay for the food and drink!
