From quiet stretches of coastline to easy-access beach parks, St. Augustine has no shortage of picnic-worthy spots. If you’re looking for a more secluded experience, head north to GTM Reserve, where the expansive shoreline and natural scenery make it feel like you’ve escaped the crowds. For a more scenic setting, Washington Oaks State Park offers gardens, ocean views and a unique backdrop for your picnic.

Conveniently located directly across from the beach on A1A, Beach Bagels offers authentic New York-style bagels steps away from multiple beach access points for picnics. Stop by Ocean Hammock State Park afterwards, or Mary Street Beach access to enjoy your breakfast or lunch with a view.

Nalu’s Tropical takeout – 1020 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080

Directly before the entrance to Anastasia State Park, Nalu’s Tropical takeout offers quick easy to-go lunch options. They have some of the best quesadillas, burritos and Ahi Tuna Poke Bowls. They also sell ocean-inspired artwork outside. Stop here, and head to the state park for a peaceful beach picnic.

Hotbox – 61 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084

If you’re heading north toward Vilano Beach or GTM Reserve, stop at Hotbox for Hawaiian-inspired dishes like salmon belly musubi, soy garlic mushrooms and other unique picnic-friendly bites.

Publix – multiple locations

A classic Florida Beach Picnic, we had to include Publix in this list. You can’t go wrong with a “Pub Sub,” each person in your party can customize it to their own personal tastes. Sushi is another great picnic option, drinks and snacks can all be purchased in one stop as well, or towels or any other beach goods you may have forgotten. The perfect stop before heading to Porpoise Point for a breathtaking beach sunset picnic.

Osprey Tacos – 300 Anastasia Boulevard, Saint Augustine, FL 32080

Located right past the Bridge of Lions, Ospreys Tacos offers traditional Mexican Tacos as well as some unique takes like their Cheeseburger Taco or their Cuban-inspired taco. The “St. Augustine” is a taco filled with fried shrimp, pickled onion, cabbage and house-made Datil sauce. They also have Hyppo Popsicles if you’re looking for a refreshing treat to end your picnic.

Another Taco Shop on the Island, perfect for grabbing a quick meal to go before hitting the beach. They have Arepas, tacos, burritos and chips and guac, perfect for sharing. 

Brooklyn Pizza – 1057 A1A Beach Blvd, St Augustine Beach, FL 32080

Brooklyn Pizza is a good easy option if you’re having a larger picnic, or want a romantic date night, you can grab a bottle of wine and a pizza to go and head to Ocean Hammock State Park with a picnic blanket. 

Odd Birds Cafe – 121 Yacht Club Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32084

Perfect stop before heading to Vilano Beach, if you’re going in the morning or midday. They have great coffee, pastries and lunch options as well. Plenty of sandwiches that are great to take to-go. 

Paladar Cuban Cafe – 5575 A1A S #112, St. Augustine, FL 32080

Perfect stop before heading to Mary Street Beach access, Paladar has amazing pastries, especially their Guava Cream Cheese turnover. Great, strong, Cuban coffee and also Cuban sandwiches, which are a more filling lunch option that can easily be brought to the beach.

A food truck located between either Vilano Beach or St. Augustine Beach. They serve avocado toast, tacos, homemade Pop-Tarts and breakfast sandwiches on croissants. They have something for everyone to bring to the beach.

Located right off of A Street, Stir it Up has smoothies, sandwiches and salads, perfect for a quick lunch to bring right to the beach across the road.
