Where to Play Golf in Northeast Florida
Something we love about where we live is that there really is something for everyone. While the area is known for its pristine waterways and wildlife, which we love talking about, Northeast Florida is also known as a must-visit spot for golfers. Whether you’re a pro or an enthusiastic novice, there are some amazing courses located just a short drive from us.

THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass
110 Championship Way, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

THE PLAYERS
If you know golf, you’ve probably heard of THE PLAYERS. Built in 1980 to host the PGA’s THE PLAYERS Championship, THE PLAYERS Stadium Course is the world’s first true stadium course, designed to favor no particular style of play and improve the fan experience. It’s hosted all the greats, including Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and the TPC’s most recent champ, Cameron Young. It’s a balanced course best known for its iconic Island Green on the 17th hole.
You may know that course, but did you know that TPC Sawgrass is home to another lesser-known but equally iconic course called Dye’s Valley Course? Designed by Pete Dye, Bobby Weed and player consultant Jerry Pate, a PLAYERS Champion himself, Dye’s Valley sits adjacent to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and features large greens, a myriad of water features and rolling hills and valleys. The course is no stranger to champions either, having hosted several Korn Ferry Tour events, the Senior Players Championship and the NFL Golf Classic.
King & Bear and Slammer & Squire at World Golf Village
1 King and Bear Dr., St. Augustine, Florida
It’s cool to golf where the pros play, but how about playing the courses the pros designed? That’s where the ultra-cool courses at World Golf Village come into play. Legendary rivals Arnold “The King” Palmer and Jack “Golden Bear” Nicklaus came together to design the King & Bear, a course that is a testament to their love of the game. The course is set among towering oaks and boasts a layout that blends Nicklaus’ inviting fairways with Palmer’s fast greens and a few challenging water hazards, for good measure. The Slammer & Squire was named after World Golf Hall of Fame members Sam “Slammer” Snead and Gene “Squire” Sarazen, who worked with famed golf architect Bobby Weed. The course was designed to preserve and showcase the area’s natural beauty, with lush woods and pristine native wetlands.
3901 Monument Rd., Jacksonville, Florida

Hidden Hills
This one is worth the short drive north! This public course hosted the Greater Jacksonville Open, a tournament that eventually evolved into what is now the TPC Sawgrass. Previous Open winners included the likes of Gary Player, Tony Jacklin and Don January. Golfing legend Arnold Palmer was brought in to redesign the course in 1986, creating an Arnold Palmer Signature layout with challenging curves and contours and rolling fairways. Surrounded by towering pine and oak trees, the course exudes classic North Florida, with hole 8 being considered the most charming.
