The Best Gift Shops in St. Augustine

You’ve walked around downtown, visited the Castillo de San Marcos, climbed all 219 steps up to the St. Augustine Lighthouse and hit the water with us here at Florida Water Tours. All that’s left to do is buy some sweet gifts. And whether you’re buying a memento for yourself or a present for someone back home, St. Augustine has a wide array of gift shops, perfect for a thoughtful token of the Oldest City.

Classically St. Augustine

From touristy t-shirts to shell jewelry, there’s something about classic kitschy gifts that just screams fun.

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument – 1 South Castillo Dr.

Speaking of the Castillo de San Marcos, don’t miss their gift shop, located inside The Fort. There, you can buy all sorts of books, stickers, shirts, pins, medallions, patches and more for the National Park lover in your life.

Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth – 11 Magnolia Ave.

This landmark St. Augustine attraction has a gift shop with all the usual suspects, but their tiny bottles of Fountain of Youth water are where it’s at. Will it restore the drinker’s youthful visage? We can’t say! But they do make a cute, quintessentially St. Augustine keepsake.

The Shell Shop is the perfect place to pick up super-cool beachy gifts. They have large and small shells, coral, shell and coral jewelry, specimen shells and even megalodon shark-tooth fossils. If your suitcase is especially large, they also have wind chimes, boat furniture, dream catchers and unique art pieces.

Artsy Abode – 41 King St.

Artsy Abode carries an adorable selection of St. Augustine-inspired items, including t-shirts, hand-painted and cloisonné holiday ornaments, charms, jewelry, throw pillows, kitchen towels, hand-painted clocks and more.

Second Read Books – 51D Cordova St.

Topics include Henry Flagler, local mysteries, the town’s Menorcan heritage, ghost stories and more!

Tasty Oldest City Treats

Believe it or not, the Nation’s Oldest City is home to some great home-grown sweet and savory items that you’ll definitely want to buy extra of!

Diane’s Bees – 7424 A1A South

Diane’s Bees is less of a gift shop and more of a home honey stand, but if you want to bring back the sweetest gift around, this is the stop. They offer a selection of ultra-local, artisan infusions and body care items, like lip balm and lotion, all in super-cute tins and jars. Please be mindful that this stand is at someone’s home, so be respectful!

Old City Pepper Company – 123 St. George St.

Take a classic St. Augustine flavor home with you! Old City Pepper Company creates hot sauces from the Oldest City’s famous datil pepper, a locally grown hot pepper critical to Menorcan cooking. Datil pepper sauces have a tantalizing blend of sweet and spicy flavors. Check out their classic datil pepper sauce, datil pepper mustard and datil pepper jelly.

Whetstone Chocolates – 42 St. George St. or 13 Anastasia Blvd.

Since the 1960s, Whetstone Chocolates has been making high-quality chocolate, right here in St. Augustine. Its custom chocolate blends bear local names like Menendez, Sebastian, Aviles and San Marco, plus they create chocolate shells, truffles, hearts, brittle, chocolate alligators, hot chocolate and their very own Gator Chomp, a sweet and savory mix of pretzel pieces, crispy rice pieces, corn flakes and peanuts covered in creamy milk chocolate.
